Making DNS Changes at Register.com

Remember that it takes 24-72 hours
for these changes to take effect.
This process is called DNS
Propagation.The
first thing you need to do is to
login to your account manager, by
clicking on the My Account
button at the top of the page.
You
will then be required to enter the
login and password you were provided
by Register.com.
Once logged in, if you have only
done domain name registered at
register.com the domain name will be
selected by default.
However, if you have more than one
domain, you will need to select the
domain name from the list.
Once selected click on 'Modify DNS'
above the domain list.
Scroll down where you will be able
to to see the existing nameservers
already associated with the domain
name. You will need to check these
off the delete them and add your new
nameservers. If you do not check
them off you will simply be adding
the new nameservers on and not
changing them.
Once checked off, right underneath
will be where you must enter the
name servers as specified in your
Welcome E-mail (i.e.
ns1.hostinghelper.co.uk).
You
only ever need two nameservers to
point your domain name correctly,
therefore, unless there is more than
two nameservers listed in your
welcome e-mail you do not need to
add any more.
Once done you will need to enter an
accessible email address to confirm
your changes. Once you have done
that click on 'submit' to start the
process.
Register.com will always ask you to
double check and confirm your
changes.
Once done click to confirm. That is
it you have submitted your changes
and now need to wait for the
confirmation request to come through
to your email account sent from
Register.com
Once received you must click on the
confirmation link within 3 days
after which the request is
automatically voided.
You
will then need to click on confirm
the finalise the changes.
