Making DNS Changes at NameCheap.com
Remember that it takes 24-72 hours
for these changes to take effect.
This process is called DNS
Propagation.
The first thing you need to do is to
login to your account manager, by
clicking on the Login - click
here button at the top of the
page.
You
will then be required to enter the
login and password you created when
opening your NameCheap account.
Once logged you will need to select
the domain name you wish to modify
by clicking on 'view' under
ACCOUNT INFORMATION.
You
will then be presented with the list
of domain names you have with
NameCheap. To continue select the
domain name you wish to modify.
Now
to change the nameservers, click on
'GO >>' under MODIFY DNS
You
will now be presented with the
options:
Use
NameCheap's Name Servers
Use Custom Name Servers
Ensure you select 'Use Custom Name
Servers' then enter the name servers
as specified in your Welcome E-mail
(i.e. ns1.hostinghelper.co.uk).
You
only ever need two nameservers to
point your domain name correctly,
therefore, unless there is more than
two nameservers listed in your
welcome e-mail you do not need to
add any more.
Once done submit the changes by
clicking on 'Save Changes'
After a few seconds the screen
should display a message similar to
the one below:
"The Name Servers were Successfully
Updated"
